About Us

We are delighted to say that we have just had our goverment inspection (ISI) in November 2024.  We have been approved as EXCELLENT for our Teaching.  Thank you to all the hard work from the students and teachers.  We Exceeded Expectations in all areas of the organisation.

We have been an English Language Centre since 1984 and we welcome you to our current Academic Term. There are eight members of staff who are qualified and experienced teachers, and up to 100 international students at any one time.

We offer full-time and part-time courses in general English.  There are day time and evening time classes, and also the £2.50 classes with the new teachers in training, and also qualified volunteer teachers.

The school is in an attractive historic building in a quiet conservation area in the heart of Reading.  It is only 5 minutes' walk from the Oracle central shopping and leisure area.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the following organisations who have supported the school by providing funding for our English Language courses.

In particular the school would like to thank Reading Borough Council for the recent generous grant which supports the English Language courses for the refugees and asylum seekers residing in the Reading area.

Accreditation

The school has been inspected on a regular basis by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and has received the highest rating of EXCELLENT in all areas.

Teacher Training - CELTA & DELTA

Our on-site courses are for native and non-native students to train for the University of Cambridge CELTA qualification, the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults.

We also run courses for experienced teachers leading to the University of Cambridge Delta.

Cambridge Exam Preparation Centre

This is an Accredited Centre for the preparation of Cambridge Assessment English ESOL Examinations.
